Camping Site Leirubakki

Region: South Iceland
Coordinates: 63.9924337° N 20.0158882° W

Leirubakki has an excellent campsite with perfect sanitary facilities and a playground for children. An excellent wiew to the famous volcano Hekla mountain. Beside the campsite is the restaurant in the Hekla Center and the Hekla exhibition. The Viking Pool awaits there in the lava and is lit up at night.  Leirubakki offers a wide selection of horse riding tours around Leirubakki.

Open summer.

Service on Site

The campsite has a petrol station and visitors may also buy various necessities such as snacks, soft drinks, single-use grills and some sorts of other things necessary for camping.  Part of the campsite has been reserved for tent trailers, and camper vans are also welcome.
