During “The Age of Settlement” Hrolleifur the Great and his mother lived in the valley Hrolleifsdalur. His mother was a witch and difficult to cope with. Eventually they were outlawed from the district and settled at As in the Lake Valley farther west. There Hrolleifur was caught poaching and killed the first settler of the valley, Ingimundur the Old.
