Lake Reynisvatn is still another lake located within the capital area. According to the legend a farmer named Reynir and his daughter both drowned in the lake and no more trout could be caught there.
For years now lake char, rainbow trout and salmon fries have been released into the lake and fishing licenses are sold on the spot. The price depends on the catch. The lake is very popular among families.
Lake Reynisvatn is not open for angling
