Lake Laxarvatn has an area of about 0,6 km² and the fishing permits are valid along a 3,5 km long shoreline belonging to the farm Saudanes. The lake’s discharge is the most renowned salmon river of the country, Laxa in Asar.
The catch consists lake char, brown trout and a few salmons are caught every summer. The catch is very different between days and depends solely on the weather. It usually is better in the afternoon. The anglers can expect ½-2 pounders to bite. The surrounding area is excellent for berry picking and bird watching.
The distance from the capital is about 250 km and 10 km from Blonduos.
