This is a neighbouring river of the Fljotaa and much of the same can be said of both of them. Yet, the Flokadalsa is not as prolific for salmon as is its neighbour and at tops it will produce 150-160 salmon. But the char fishing is excellent. The Floka is as apt to produce large Salmon as its counterpart and is also mainly fished by locals. The average yearly sea char catch is close to 3000. Its sources are the uppermost parts of the nearby valleys and it runs through the lakes Flokadalsvatn and Hopsvatn. The distance from the capital is about 380 km.
