Nordura river has taken roots in the top three in recent years, the annual catch ranging from 1500 to 2100 Salmon. It is fished with 8-15 daily rods and is one of the very few rivers possible to start fishing at the start of June. It then has a run of big salmon that keep coming until the end of June, when the grilse hordes arrive. The river keeper and the guides said there was no doubt that there were at least as many fish left in the river if not twice as many. That applied to many of the west coast rivers in 1998. The Nordura was managed by the Angling Club of Reykjavik and that has been the case for over 50 years until 2022.
nordura.is is now selling angling permits for Nordura.
The lodges are one of the finest in the country as the river itself is said to have few in scenery.
