A glacial river of considerable volume. It is fished mostly like the Olfusa river, except at the junctions of clear rivers such as the Ida, which is mentioned elsewhere. Hamrar, mentioned with the Bruara is another such place. The Hvita has other beats, Gislastadir, Langholt, Snaefoksstadir, Storu- Armot, Brusastadir etc. Everywhere you have a great chance of hooking salmon, but the collective catch from each beat is usually in dozens. Together they muster a few hundred with the Ida standing far out in quality.
