The southern region is probably the most visited region in Iceland, with numerous waterfalls and impressive glaciers that attract thousands of tourists each year.
The towns in the southern region are Hveragerdi, Eyrarbakki, Stokkseyri, Thorlakshofn, Selfoss, Hella, Hvolsvollur, Vestmannaeyjar, Vik and Kirkjubaejarklaustur. Selfoss is the largest town in the south.

Drive over plateau Hellisheidi to Hveragerdi via Selfoss to Seljalandsfoss be fore continuing to Skogafoss, then passing Myrdalsjokull going to
Vik in Myrdal. You can also continue to Kirkjubaejarklaustur and drive to Skaftafell National Park.
For Jokulsarlon is only less than one over drive from Skaftafell National Park to Jokulsarlon.
Going back to Reykjavik you can go to Geysir in Haukadal and Gullfoss . Going back to Reykjavik and continue to Laugavatn then to Thingvellir National Park to Reykjavik via Mosfelldsheidi.
Driving over plateau Hellisheidi to Hveragerdi to Kerid and continue to Skalholt then to Reykholt
before going to Geysir in Haukadal. Next stop is Gullfoss10 km from Geysir area.
Going back to Reykjavik from Gullfoss or Geysir continue to Laugavatn to Thingvellir National Park
driving back to Reykjavik via Mosfelldsheidi.
Or driving via Mosfelldsheidi direct to Thingvellir National Park Continue to Laugavatn then to Geysir in Haukadal next stop is Gullfoss then to Reykholt and continue to Skalholt from Skalholt to Kerid and continue to Hveragerdi over Hellisheidi back to Reykjavik.
