This is a privately owned river. Small in volume and fished with two rods per day, educated guesses maintain that some 50 to 100 fish are taken from it each season. The short and partly wooded Botnsdalur Valley is a popular recreational area. Hiking routes lead to the highest waterfall of the country and to the lovely Parliamentary Plains in the first National Park “Thingvellir”.
