Mt Thorbjorn is a mountain north of Grindavík. It offers a great view of most of the Reykjanes peninsula on good days. At the north-eastern part of the mountain is a very active thermal zone, and to the north and north-east of it is a vast high-temperature zone.
It is split by a fissure known as Thief’s Gap, which was occupied by 15 thieves according to legend. They were eventually overpowered and killed by trickery.
