Audunarstadir is a farm in the Vididalur Valley in the northern part of the country.
The name of its first settler was Audun skokull Bjarnarson. He was the great grandfather of Asta, the mother of Olaf the holy, king of Norway. Ordulf, duke of Brunswick, married his daughter. The British Royalty traces its descent back to him. Why not go a bit further back in time and convince the Royal Family of its real origin in Iceland? In the Cultural Community Centre called Vidihlid, just by road # 1, the women of the area sow and sell all kinds of woollen garments. Nearby are a petrol station, a restaurant, and a souvenir shop. River Vididalsa counts as a very good salmon river.
