<Picture, Town Grundarfjordur and Mt. Helgrindur ->
Southwest of the fishing town Grundarfiord is rather a high and extended mountain ridge called Helgrindur. They are an impressive and a large part of the mountain massif of the Snaefells Peninsula.
They are dotted with patches of eternal snow and tremendous gusts of wind hitting the Grundarfiord area are magnified up there under certain weather conditions. The name means The Peaks of Hell.
