Lake Baularvallavatn has an area of 1,6 km², reaches the depth of 47 m and is situated 193 m above sea level. of lake char and brown trout.
The farm Baularvellir, near the lake, was abandoned last century.
This happened after the farm had been attacked by a monster and almost leveled. The lady of the house was alone at home with her children. She escaped narrowly. According to the legend there should be a monster in the lake, which is held responsible for this attack.
