Lake Torfdalsvatn is located in the Skagi county of East Hunavatn District. Its are is 0,6 square kilometre, relatively deep, and 52 metres above sea level. It is connected to Lake Rekavatn by a small stream. It is easily accessible by car, as the main road runs past it on the western side. It abounds in lake char and large brown trout. It was not harvested for a long period of time because of a legend about poisoned, reverse finned fishes. After a long period of netting, the result was much larger individuals.
