The spotted catfish’s (Lat. Anarrhichas minor) habitat is above the ocean floor at the depths of 100-300 metres. It reaches puberty at the age 6-7 years. By that time it weighs 4-8 kilogrammes and is 70-90 centimetres long. At the age of 25, it may reach 120 centimetres, and can get to 180 centimetres. In the Barent Sea it spawns in June-July. The catch of this species is counted with the catch of ocean catfish or wolffish in Iceland.
