Two lakes carry this name. They are joined by a brook and the distance between them is considerable. Their total area is 1,22 km² and they are situated at 562 m above sea level.
Their discharge, Fiskidalsa / Reykjaa, tributes to the glacial river Jokulsa a Bru. The same road, which accesses lakes Saenautavatn and Anavatn, is used to get to them by 4wd vehicles. The catch consists of fine lake char. The lakes were netted in earlier times.
The distance from the capital is about 583 km by the Whale Bay tunnel and a little more than 100 km from Egilsstadir.
