Kambar is the name of the steep slope, where road # 1 meanders down from Moorland Hellisheidi into the so-called Southwestern Lowlands just west of the horticultural town Hveragerdi. The first road there, built in 1879 was considered perilous.
The present road was opened in 1972. The view from the platform by the view dial on a fine day is excellent. The people who stop there have a part of the lowlands and the Westman Islands at their feet.
