Or The Horse’s Bay is about 12 miles (25 km) long and about ½ a mile (1 km) wide. The only lowland areas are on the promontories on both sides. The short valley at its end is somewhat wooded with shrubs. One of the most spectacular mountains in the area, Hestur (The Horse; 547m), decorates the landscape. One of two inhabited islands of The Isafiord Bay, Vigur, is situated just outside the mouth of The Horse’s Bay.
