Golf Club Husavik was established June 26th, 1967, and in the summer of 1971 its golf course was opened. The construction of the club house started in 1977 and a house for the club’s equipment was built in 1982-83. The golf course is among very few such to have an irrigation system. In the year 2000, the club house was improved and enlarged and a new equipment house was built. Plans have been made for additional 9 noles, but all available funds have been used for improvements up to this date.
Husavik is a town on the eastern shores of The Skjalfandi Bay. It is a commercial centre for a large agricultural area and processing of farm produce plays a considerable role in the town’s economy.
