The museum at Manarbakki was opened on June 18th 1995 in a house named Thorshamar that was moved there from Husavik. Recently, the museum was enlarged with a house named Laekjarbakki, built in a traditional Icelandic style, for all kinds of items that could not be fitted in at Thorshamar. The museum is open daily from June 10th to August 31st and by agreement at other times of the year.
