Mt Kaldbakur (1167 m) protrudes from the eastern shores of the Eyjafjordur Bay in northern Iceland. It is easily recognised by the eternal snow patches during summer. The shoreline at its foot, called Latrastrond, all the way to the mouth of the bay was relatively densely populated in the past. The farmers’ families there practized sustenance farming and fishing in the past.
