This is a clear small river, which upper part runs through beautiful and rugged canyons.

The best fishing spots are mainly in the lower part and the catch consists mainly of large sea trout (even in excess of 10 pounds) and some salmon are caught every season, which starts on the 1. of April. The distance from the capital is about 284 km and about 12 km from Kirkjubaejarklaustur.
