The Akureyri Touring Association (ATA) Mountain hut Botni is located at about 440 metres above sea level. It was built in 1996 and is located SSE of the sources of river Sudura. It accommodates 16 people in bunks and is heated with oil. Water is fetched from the cold springs near the ponds SW of the hut or from the sources of the river. The hut is open for all travellers, but hikers enjoy priority. The hiking trail from Mts Dyngjufjoll to the hut is 22-24 km long and from the hut to farm Svartarkot 15-16 km.
