The westernmost viver of the Thistilfjordur area is a medium sized spring fed river, fished with 2-3 rods. The salmon area is 15 kilometres long, up to the waterfall Storifoss. The river offers good accommodations without services. The catch in the Thistilfjordur area has been dwindling during the last few summers, but there are some signs of a more prolific future. The average summer catch is 150-250 salmons, and the best summers yield 400. The rivers of the area are known for their large samon.
