A large volume river, fished with three rods per day, and exclusively leased by a group of locals. Salmon of over 20 pounds are taken every season, and recently a fish taken for hatchery service was estimated at 30 pounds. Just as the Svalbardsa and the other rivers in the region, the Sanda requires the angler to walk quite a bit and sometime to carry loads if the fishing is good and anglers not bent on catch and release. The Sanda has a fine lodge.
