LAXA in NES

Region: East Iceland
Coordinates: 64.3497° N 15.2020° W

This beautifully situated river is fished by two rods and registered fishing spots are 24 on the 6 km long stretch. When its volume is low the salmon and trout yield of the southernmost spot, Armotahylur, almost a certainty. The northernmost spots are inside a beautiful gorge and often bring a good catch. Sometimes 20 pounders bite. The catch is increasing because of the increased release in co-operation with the Fishing Society Strengir.

Fishing period: July 1st – September 30th from 00,70-13,00 and 15,00-21,00.

Bait: Fly and worm. Between July 27th and September 1st only fly-fishing is permitted.

The two rods are only sold together and the anglers decide on the fishing arrangements.
