These four lakes are located on the Grimstunga Moorland.
Lake Thorarinsvatn, 493 m above sea level and 0,95 km².
Lake Svinavatn, 491 m above sea level and 1,2 km².
Lake Galtarvatn, 515 m above sea level and 0,84 km².
Lake Refkelsvatn, 480 m above sea level and 0,82 km².
The discharge of lake Svinavatn to the north is Svinavatnslaekur and of lake Refkelsvatn Refkelslaekur. These brooks join river Vatnsdalsa.
All these lakes offer nice lake char and the farmers used to net them. A 4wd track from the valley Vatnsdalur leads to the lakes.
The distance from the capital is about 220 km.
