Lakes Fossarvotn are located in the Fljotsdalsherad Region in the East, to the southwest of River Lagarfljot. The nearest town is Egilsstadir Their total area is 0,62 km² at 592 m above sea level.
River Fossa, their discharge, tributes to the glacial river Jokulsa, which becomes river Lagarfljot. The walking distance to the lakes is about 3 km, mostly uphill. The catch consists of lake char, 1-2 pounders. The lakes have been netted with good results.
