Thorsmork Adventure – On Your Own

Thorsmork is a beautiful Nature Reserve and a “must see” during your stay in Iceland. It is a favorite among hikers as it offers good access to endless hiking trails in beautiful volcanic landscape, with views over the three glaciers; Eyjafjallajokull, Myrdalsjokull and Tindfjallajokull.

Getting here is an adventure in itself and part of the way is driven in a specially equipped mountain bus that takes you into the rugged wilderness, safely crossing rough roads and glacial rivers.

Arriving in Thorsmork, the bus stops at the Volcano Huts in Husadalur, where there is a restaurant and you can get information about the best hiking trails in the area. From there you can easily access the hiking trails and spend the day walking along marked trails in the beautiful volcanic landscape of Thorsmork.

Those who would rather relax and take it easy during the stop in Thorsmork will find plenty of sights close to the bus stop in Husadalur and can even head for the sauna and small pool, before heading back with the bus at 4pm.
