Self drive Saga Trails
This itinerary suggestion for a 3 days self
escorted tour, covers the Snaefellsnes peninsula
with view to the glacier Snaefell Glacier. Drive to
Grundarfjordur to Stykkisholmur then to Budardalur. Then set
the course
southward over Brattabrekka to Borgarfiord and stop in the
Rekholt and Husafell area, before returning
to the
capital Reykjavik.

Day 1: Reykjavik-Borgarfjordur-Olafsvik.
The Snaefellsnes peninsula offers many fascinating sights such as
Glacier
Snaefellsjokull,
Budir, Arnarstapi and Hellnar
then drive to Hellissandur
and Rif. Overnight in Olafsvik
area.
Day 2: Olafsvik-Stykkisholmur.
Use the day to explore Snaefellsnes. From Olafsvik drive via
Grundarfiord
to
Stykkisholmur.
Overnight in the area.
Day 3: Stykkisholmur-Budardalur-Reykjavik
From Stykkisholmur you drive to Budardalur.
Then set
the course
southward over Brattabrekka to Borgarfiord and stop in
Reykholt and Husafell, before returning
to the
capital Reykjavik.
